What Changed
In 1985 a group of feminist female artists devoted to fighting sexism and racism within the art world  called the Guerillas Girls checked (and presented) how many one-person exhibitions in New York were presented-by women artists in a year. In my project I wanted to present "what changed (or didn't) in the last 20 years''.

I started by checking the data from 1990 until 2019 for 3 big museums in New York City: the Guggenheim, The Metropolitan, and the Whitney. I noted how many one-person shows they had, how many were by men artists, and how many by women artists for each year.  In the project, the viewer can slide between the years and see a visual representation of the data. For each and every year ‘W’ and ‘M’ letters appears on the screen, the ‘W’ signifies all the women artists shows and ‘M’ signifies all the men artists shows this year, for all 3 museums. All the letters together will represent all the one-person shows in that year for all 3 museums. In addition, the user can see which museum has the most women artists one person shows in total up until the year.

The project presents information in a visual form while the viewer gets the widest breadth of information. The goal is to present the information in a clear and objective way and really to examine whether things have changed or not in the last 20 years. The project was designed and coded by me.
